MOUNTIES TAKE DOWN THE CHARGERS IN ELECTRIC HOME DOUBLEHEADER SWEEP
McCormick Gym was rocking Saturday night as the Mount Allison Mounties edged out the Crandall Chargers 78–73 in a thrilling men's basketball showdown.
It was a tight contest from start to finish. The two sides traded baskets all night, with the Mounties holding on late behind clutch free throws and a roaring home crowd that nearly packed the gym to capacity.
Ryan Norris led the way with 24 points, including five triples, while Simba Bowora was dominant in the paint with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Christian Hager added 13 points and 5 assists, and Jonas Munroe pulled down a double-digit 10 boards to keep the Mounties in control on the glass.
The Mounties shot an efficient 49% from the field and went 20-for-29 at the line, showing poise under pressure to seal the win.
Earlier in the evening, the Mount Allison women's team also took care of business, earning a win of their own, marking a double victory for the home crowd.
The energy from fans was electric all night, making McCormick Gym the place to be. With both Mount A squads firing on all cylinders, it was a night to remember for the Mountie faithful.
