Mounties split weekend double header with Ste Anne

The Mount Allison Mounties hosted the Dragons from the Universite de Ste Anne for a weekend double header and both teams came away with wins.

On Saturday the Mounties used the home court to emerge with a 3-0 match win.  Sets were 25-21, 25-23 and 25-23, all for the Mounties. Freshman Rachel MacDougall once again paced the attack for the Mounties, leading the way with 17 kills.

The close scores on Saturday might have been foreshadowing for Sunday as the teams needed 5 sets to decide a winner. In the end the Dragons took the match with a 17-15 win in the fifth and final set.  The Mounties started well on Sunday with 25-23 and 25-15 wins to build a 2-0 lead before Ste Anne answered back with 26-24 and 25-22 wins in the 3rd and 4th sets.

Sarah Theriault had 9 kills for the Dragons in the win while Rachel MacDougall had 24 for the Mounties.
