The Mount Allison Men's basketball team has been busy in the off season filling in a few roster holes for the 2019-2020 ACAA campaign.
ACAA runners up the Mount Allison Mounties, who already return a large core back for the 2019-2020 campaign, just got stronger in the off season. Mounties coach Steve Chapman is pleased to announce that Fredericton's Noah McCarthy has committed to attend Mount Allison next year. The 6'1", 170 lb combo guard, who was a member of the UNB Varsity Reds this past season, is according to Chapman, "an excellent scorer of the basketball and is a feisty competitor who will fit nicely with our style of play and the systems we use. We only graduate two players, both guards, so Noah has a real opportunity to come in and contribute right away. We are pleased Noah is joining us".
Before attending UNB, McCarthy was a 3 time NBIAA All Star while attending John Caldwell High School and Fredericton High. McCarthy was also a member of both the New Brunswick U15 and U17 provincial teams. McCarthy is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Mounties head coach Steve Chapman is pleased to announce the intention of Toronto's Emanuel Adugna to attend Mount Allison this coming Fall. Having attended Memorial University this past year, the 5'10 PG Adugna played high school at Victoria Park CI in Toronto, guiding them to an undefeated season in 2017-2018 in the TDSB North Region, during which time he averaged 37 points and 5.4 assists per game.
According to Chapman, "Emanuel is a pretty versatile player who from the guard position, can really score the ball and facilitate a team into offence. We should have great depth at the guard position next year and we are excited Emanuel has chosen MtA to be a member of our team as well to acquire his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and to pursue his career aspiration of teaching and coaching.
