Mounties defeat Seawolves in last ACAA hoop action before holidays

The Mount Allison Mounties needed a strong second half performance on home court Saturday to defeat the visiting UNBSJ Seawolves 84-72. With the win, the Mounties, winners of four of their last 5 games, improved their ACAA league record to 5-3 heading into the Christmas break

Second year forward James French came off the bench to score 17 points, had 2 blocks and 11 rebounds to lead the Mounties to a 52 point second half explosion after trailing 39-30 at the half. Riverview guard Aram Currie scored 16 points, while FHS standout Seongwoo Park added 12 points. Forward Trevor Schulz of Richmond BC returned to the lineup to contribute 10 points and 9 rebounds. The Seawolves (2-5) were led by Natt Brown with 15 points while Jacob Vickers with 13.

The Mounties now are into Christmas exams before returning to ACAA action January 12 when they visit the Dal AC Rams.
