The Mount Allison Mounties opened their ACAA men's basketball season with a 2-0 record after a pair of wins over the weekend. On Saturday the Mounties visited St Thomas Tommies and emerged victorious in a 109-61 win over the host Tommies. Thomas LeGallais led the Mounties with 25 points, Brad Sanford had 16, Mack Chisholm and Rod Joseph each added 10. Sam Drummond had 16 for the host Tommies who tricked 53-36 at half. On Sunday, the Mounties overcame a first quarter deficit behind 6 and won 92-78 over the visiting UNBSJ Seawolves. The Mounties who led 40-31 at half were led by Thomas LeGallais with 33 points, Seongwoo Park with 14 and Aram Currie of Riverview with 18 points. Hunter Gray had 19 and Sam Ansley had 17 for the visiting Seawolves.
The 2-0 Mounties host Kings College Blue Devils this Saturday in Sackville at 3:00pm and travel to Mount Saint Vincent Mystics on Sunday in a 4:00pm start up.
