Mounties show lots of grit in loss to SAIT

The Mount Allison Mounties had another gritty effort at the 2017 CCAA Nationals at Hollege College Friday afternoon, this time losing 88-75 against the #5 ranked SAIT Trojans.

After falling behind 6-0 to start the game, the Mounties went on a 14-2 run to close out the 1st quarter with a 14-8. SAIT pushed back with a big run of their own in the 2nd quarter, grabbing a 43-30 lead at the break.  The Mounties would pull within 6 points by the end of the 3rd quarter but the Trojans were able to hold on for the win.

Mounties Senior Bradley Fuller was the top scorer for the Mounties with 22 points.  Fuller also had 6 rebounds for the garnet and gold.  ACAA Rookie of the Year Thomas LeGallais had 20 points and was named the Mounties Player of the Game for his efforts.  Alex Chisholm and Bradley Sanford had 10 each.

The Mounties will now play at 2PM Saturday against George Brown to determine 7th and 8th place at the championship.
