Mount Allison's Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce that Michael Miller has been named head coach of our Mounties badminton program. Miller, who is a former Mounties badminton All-star, will take over a program that has great success in the ACAA over the past 15 years.
Miller, of Moncton, NB, was an ACAA All-star and represented Mount Allison at CCAA Nationals on more than one occasion during his playing years with the Mounties. He brings a wealth of badminton experience to the position. Miller also served as an assistant coach with the Mounties program in 2018-2019.
"It is my honour to be named the Head Coach of the Mount Allison University Badminton Program," offered Miller. "I’ve had the great opportunity of participating in the program during my tenure at Mount Allision as a student and I now look forward to this new opportunity in the pursuit of continued success for the Mounties."
"We are really pleased to introduce Mike as the new head coach for our Mounties badminton program," commented Pierre Arsenault, Director of Athletics and Recreation with Mount Allison University. "As a student athlete Mike represented our Mounties program in all of the ways we aspire to. He has proven himself as a hard worker and a great team player. We're looking forward to the energy and passion he will bring to our program."
Miller inherits a badminton program that finished 2nd place in the ACAA in 2018-2019 by a single point. During his playing days, Miller was part of a Mounties run that saw Mount Allison win 9 straight ACAA Championships.
