Mounties men's basketball head coach Steve Chapman is pleased to announce that Ite Adekeye from Calgary Alberta will be joining the basketball Mounties this Fall.
The athletic 6'3 215 lb Adekeye played this past season at Orangeville Prep, one of top high school programs in the country. According to Chapman, "Ite is a phenomenal athlete who will make an immediate impact in the ACAA and our program in general . He has has benefitted from a quality coaching staff led by Nathan Johnson with and has played with and against some of the best high aged talent in the country. We are fortunate to have Ite join our program."
Adekeye's brings an impressive recent playing history to the Mounties.
For Ite’s final year of High school he attended the prestigious Athlete Institute Academy playing for Orangeville Prep. During his time at Orangeville Ite competed against some of the best young basketball players in North America. While helping Orangeville to a 37-8 record Ite averaged 5.9 pts, 1.6 assists and 4.1 rebound per game. Ite left his mark at Orangeville using his elite athleticism and defensive abilities.
For grade 11 Ite attended St. Johns Military School in Salina, Kansas. While with the Mule Skinner’s Ite averaged 27.3ppg 5.4 assists and 10.4 rebounds per game. Ite was also awarded MVP of his team as he lead them to their best record in school history.
Ite played for Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School, located in Calgary Alberta. While at Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School he averaged 24.3 ppg, 6 assists and 8 rebounds per game. During his grade 10 year he was regarded in the area as one of the top performers and future up and coming stars. Ite made a reputation for himself by being an elite defender.
