The Mount Allison Mounties women’s hockey team is proud to announce the addition of Terry Rhindress of Riverview, NB to its coaching staff.
Rhindress brings a wealth of hockey experience to a Mounties program that played in the AUS Championship final in both 2012 and 2014. Most recently, Rhindress has spent the last 4 seasons as the Head Coach of the Moncton Vitos of the New Brunswick Junior Hockey League (NBJHL). While serving as head coach, Rhindress and the Vitos won 3 league championships and they also won one Atlantic Junior B Championship (Don Johnson Cup).
“I am very excited to have Terry join our coaching staff,” commented Mounties Head Coach Warren Mason. “Terry's knowledge and ability to teach the game will undoubtedly make us a better team. While Terry will work with all players on the team he will have a greater focus on our defense to assist them with their growth as players. Again I am looking forward to having Terry on the staff to start the season.”
Prior to his stint with the Moncton Vitos, Rhindress served two years as Head Coach and General Manager with the Bridgewater Lumberjacks of the Maritime Hockey League (Junior A). Rhindress also has experience working with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), both as assistant coach with the Acadie Bathurst Titan and as a scout with the Drummondville Voltigeurs. While with Drummondville, Rhindress was part of a team that won the Presidents Cup (QMJHL championship).
Terry is no stranger to Hockey Canada’s program of excellence either, having served as an assistant coach with Team Atlantic at the Under 17 level and an assistant coach at the 2011 Canada Winter Games.
The Mounties will hit the ice for training camp in Sackville on September 10th. The regular season will kick off for the Mounties when they travel to StFX on Saturday, October 14th.
