"the Mount Allison Way"

When you come to Mount Allison to play a varsity sport, you become part of the Mountie family. Indeed, our 220 varsity athletes, our coaches, our athletic therapists and our support staff across our 10 varsity sport teams truly do live as the Mountie family every day. We take care of each other, we support each other and together, we are redefining what Mounties Athletics is all about.

When you come to Mount Allison as a varsity student athlete, you will be playing the sport you love at one of Canada's most distinguished and most accomplished universities. The Mounties family atmosphere extends throughout Mount Allison's small campus of 2,500 students, a campus known for highly accessible faculty who are committed to excellence in undergraduate education. Mount Allison has been ranked the No. 1 undergraduate university in Canada by MacLean's for a record 17th time in 2013-2014. In fact, we have never been ranked lower than 2nd. The University is nationally recognized for its outstanding graduates. A Mount Allison degree is highly valued in the "business of life after university" and it has an excellent record of graduates who are later accepted to postgraduate and professional schools.

Over $800,000 in student financial assistance was given out last year to those students in need. Approximately 900 student jobs were available on campus.

As a Mountie, you will experience a unique balance of excellence in the classroom and excellence in your sport of choice. With our Academic Achievement Program (click here for more information) you will get the support you need to find your way academically. We will help get you on the right path and we will continue to support your efforts throughout your degree. As a student athlete, you will benefit from some of the leagues' top coaches (3 AUS and 6 ACAA Coach of the Year Awards in the past 4 years) and you will enjoy an environment that stresses preparing the right way for athletic success.

It's a university where 70% of students live within a five-minute walk from classrooms, library, dining halls, restaurants and the athletic centre. All first-year students are guaranteed a residence room. Residence rooms are wired for use of TV, phones, computers, the World Wide Web, Internet and E-mail.
